On New York streets, too many people are left to face winter with nothing but cardboard for cover. These cardboard figures stand in for them—reminders of how thin that “warmth” really is—and lead to the NEW YORK CARES COAT DRIVE, where a real coat can change someone’s winter. New York Cares mobilizes volunteers citywide to support New Yorkers in need with warmth, food, and community programs.
